Member Survey 2022

The survey was completed by as many as 45% of our annual pass holders, and nationwide this survey was conducted by over 60 golf courses. This has given us a representative insight. We are very proud that we are in the national top 5 again 4 times in the areas of club life, training facilities, hospitality and clubhouse.

Some notable items

- 67% have a handicap of 18.5-36.0.
- 62% are under 65 years of age.
- In category 'club life' we are number 2 in the Netherlands.
- The training facilities score a 5th place. The investment in the new tee-off mats is reflected in an improved rating. The quality of the balls is rated slightly lower than in 2021 and we expect to give the right quality boost with the 25,000 new driving range balls.

Golf lessons on Tespelduyn

No less than 48% of the annual card holders do not take golf lessons at Tespelduyn and 13% of them gave as their reason 'I don't think it will improve my game' and 37% 'just didn't get around to it'. Precisely because the survey indicates that those who do take lessons are extremely enthusiastic (50% higher rating than nationally!) Golfschool Tespelduyn wants to encourage and motivate those golfers who are not yet taking lessons to participate in the training/lessons in 2023.

Improve flow in the course
Our current start time system does not load the golf handicap so we cannot control maximum handicap per flight. In the first half of 2023, we will purchase new software that will allow us to do this. This will make a positive contribution to better flow in the course.

Greens have varying speed
1. With the recently purchased electric greens mower we are improving the quality of the greens.
2. There is simply a difference in the greens. For example, holes 1, 2 and 5 are high so these greens are drier than the other greens. The greens of holes 3, 6 and Parkhole 1 are in the shade for the longest time of the day and are therefore wet for longer periods of time, which also produces another characteristic. So factors that are not within our control. Of course, our greenkeepers continue to strive for the highest possible result.

The path to hole 1 is in poor condition
This path will be refurbished in January 2023.

Pitchmarks are inadequately repaired
This is a collective concern. Let us continue to insist on this discipline with ourselves but also with others.

The quality of the teeboxes could be better
In the winter of 2021/2022 we struck through from grass and for this we had to sit on our blisters cq. the tees were in poor condition in the spring. We have managed to improve the quality and are not finished with that. Starting this winter, we are hitting off the mats so that we can hit off nice grass tees again in the spring.

Improve lighting of driving range
In November, all lights were replaced with LED lights. Not only sustainable, but also a higher light output.

Pitch field upgrade
We have placed this on the action list for 2023 and we will then install bunkers and lighting on the Pitch field, among other things.

Eager for new driving range balls
As mentioned above, 25,000 new driving range balls went into service in November.
