Golfers rate Golf Course Tespelduyn again high in national survey 2025

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey this year. The high response rate of 55% provides tremendously valuable insights that we will work with. In total, we received more than 1,000 (!) responses with feedback on our distinctiveness, tips for the future and general recommendations.

Key themes

Trackman on the Driving Range

The survey showed a great need for a modern, digital Driving Range. That's why it's extra great that we went live with the Tespelduyn Trackman Driving Range at the end of September. All information about the fantastic Trackman Driving Range system can be found at Tespelduyn Trackman Driving Range - Golf Course Tespelduyn

Circulation remains a concern

Over the past year we have made major adjustments to the course to improve flow such as the new hole 7 and the dogleg on hole 8. We thank you for the valuable suggestions for further optimization and based on these we will keep looking at what knobs we can turn.

Safety on the course

We recently closed the course for three days to ensure the safety of our greenkeeper team. It was not an easy decision, but a necessary one. The many positive reactions show that safety is seen as a top priority by everyone.

Together we provide a safe golf environment. With clear agreements, we make it easier for everyone to continue playing golf safely and with pleasure. Address each other and be prepared to be addressed.

Appreciation for our catering

In the national survey the hospitality industry of Golf Course Tespelduyn again ends high. We will learn the exact ranking at a later stage and of course we will add lustre to the announcement. It is a big compliment for our hospitality team that is ready to welcome everyone every day. We do everything every day to make golfers and guests feel welcome and have a great experience, both on the course and in our clubhouse. This is precisely why the appreciation for our hospitality and clubhouse is a wonderful recognition for our entire team.

Course and facilities

We recently started using a robotic mower and a robotic rake on the Driving Range. As a result, it hardly needs to close for maintenance anymore and golfers can practice undisturbed longer. In addition, the opening hours have been extended: the Driving Range is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., good for as many as 105 practice hours per week.

Over the past year, a lot of maintenance was again carried out to keep the course and the entire grounds as beautiful as possible and to increase the enjoyment of play. The survey shows that the greens sometimes have varying playing conditions. This is easily explained: some greens are higher and drier, while others are more shaded and therefore stay wet longer. Such natural differences make it challenging or impossible to achieve the same quality of play on all greens.

The tee boxes also came up regularly in the feedback. We have already made a quality improvement there and the further improvement of the teeboxes continues to receive our emphatic attention. We have refurbished all winter tees and on hole 8 the red tee box has been moved at the request of the ladies.

What have we done and are we going to do?

Job maintenance and facilities

  • Further improve the bunkers by keeping the sand looser.
  • The rubber tees of the Parkholes will be replaced weekly where the mats will also be blown weekly and rotated and/or replaced in a timely manner.
  • The turn on Parkhole 2 has been modified and thus improved.
  • Additional lighting has been installed on the driveway Driving Range.
  • All garden lighting has been replaced.
  • We have commissioned 16 charging stations.
  • We are running a test with a mowing robot on holes 3 & 4.
  • The red turn on hole 4 has been changed.
  • The green of hole 7 has been enlarged, but it takes more time to get it in the right condition.

Job safety

  • Key message: Address each other and be prepared to be addressed.
  • Greenkeepers always have priority
  • Additional signs have been placed on the Driving Range. These remind you to call FORE as soon as you hit a ball over the Driving Range net. Fine for yourself and fine for the golfer on the course.
  • Driving range nets have been raised.

Playing experience, software and flow

  • Because we have better and better insight into the handicaps, we manage the maximum handicap per flight as well as possible.
  • We have received several comments regarding participation in matches and competitions with a fair handicap. Hereby (again) the request to enter your cards very regularly in the GolfNL app.
  • The rules & etiquette evening will take place on October 14. You can register via Rule & Etiquette evening - Golf Course Tespelduyn. Rik Zirkzee and Thijs van Bohemen will take you virtually through our golf course. This practical approach earned a lot of praise from the 280 visitors to previous Rule & Etiquette evenings. Very instructive, even if you have been golfing for years!
  • Play Ready Golf! Run out of points to score? Pick up the ball and then move on to the next hole.
  • We would like to bring to your attention the HCP 37-55 coaching rounds. Under the guidance of an experienced and enthusiastic annual player you will play 5 holes and be provided with learning tips. All information can be found in the link.
  • Do you like to play a round of golf individually and become (even) more familiar with the course. Then make an appointment for a 1 on 1 Guidance round. Check out 1 on 1 Guidance - Golf Course Tespelduyn and make a golf appointment with one of these ambassadors.
  • The very best deal for your handicap registration is to become a member of ClubNL. You pay € 95 annually and receive each year an 18-hole voucher worth up to € 93 that you can redeem on beautiful courses; Golfpark Wilnis, De Kroonprins, Sluispolder, Landgoed Welderen and Landgoed Bleijenbeek. All info can be found at ClubNL.
